Fox cancels "The O.C."
The final episode is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 22, Fox announced Wednesday in confirming "The O.C.'s" not-so-shocking demise after four seasons. The end, after 16 episodes this season, comes exactly 3-1/2 years after the Newport Beach series became a sensation. "This feels like the best time to bring the show to its close,” said creator Josh Schwartz in a statement. “Thanks to the hard work of our cast, crew and writers, we have enjoyed our best season yet, and what better time to go out than creatively on top. It has been an amazing experience and a great run. For a certain audience, at a certain time, THE O.C. has meant something. For that we are grateful."

Megan Mullally's talk show gets the ax
Production on "The Megan Mullally Show" has been shut down, effective immediately, after ranking in last place among all series in its genre. Original episodes will run through the end of January.

Lance Bass and his boyfriend, Reichen Lehmkuhl, have called it quits, People magazine reported on its Web site Monday.

Bass, who was part of the boy band 'N Sync, revealed earlier this year that he is gay and was in a relationship with Lehmkuhl, a former Air Force captain and winner of season four of CBS' "Amazing Race."

Grey's George Gay

from towleroad...

Whether or not it was related to the brawl that erupted between Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey on the set of Grey's Anatomy earlier this week, in which Washington allegedly referred to T.R. Knight with several derogatory slurs, Knight revealed to People magazine today that he is gay:

"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."

I reeeeeeally hope that Madonna is wearing a wig! Pictured in Japan at a Louis Vuitton event last night...there are only two more shows left for her Confessions tour...and now news is that the AMA's snubbed her and she received zero nominations

They were all over Toronto...still not too sure why...anyhow, here's a random pic for no real reason.

Here is my best to worst list of the movies I saw at TIFF and the (there are another 25 I'd like to see from good word of mouth, but alas I'll have to wait until their official release)

Stranger than Fiction
Breaking and Entering
Starter for Ten
After The Wedding
Paris Je T'aime
Mon Meillieur Ami
10 Items or Less
12:08 East of Bucharest
Dixie Chicks Shut Up and Sing
Griffin and Phoenix
El Cantante
Catch a Fire
Rescue Dawn
Pan's Labyrinth
Love and Other Disasters
The Wind the Shakes the Barley
Red Road
The Killer Within
Shot in the Dark
L'Homme de sa Vie
Chacun Sa Nuit
Day Night Day Night
Sleeping Dogs Lie

Now begins the post TIFF blues...this has been my favourite festival in the 8 years I've been attending. I saw so many great movies, had so many friends at screenings, and didn't loathe even one movie (granted a couple were pretty bad, but not worthy of a walkout)

After The Wedding 8.6/10
Paris Je T'aime 8.6/10

Thanks to my lovely cleaning lady, I've missed The Dog Problem. She has a tendancy to dust my bedside alarm clock, including the volume dial, and as such when it went off this morning it was far too faint to wake me.

L'Homme de sa Vie 6.8/10

Here are a few more pics I took during the week...the one with the three blurry women is of the Dixie Chicks (I believe if you have to explain a picture, it's likely not a very good one)

And some last minute switching some picks. Based on terrible word of mouth, I traded my Kabul Express tickets (which was reviewed in today's Toronto Star as "the sublimely worse movie at the festival") for a Saturday screening of Glue. I've also decided to not go to the screening of Un Crime. I love Emmanuelle Beart, but here horrible things about the movie and I'm attempting to avoid anything awful in the last two days. So if you want two tickets to Un Crime...they're yours!

You know I always like to see at least one movie with some substantial dirt in it...I thought Short Bus was one particular scene in Red Road caught me completely off about dirt yowza!
Red Road 7.3/10
Starter for Ten 8.8/10
10 Items or Less 8.2/10

Only a few more movies to go...can't believe how quickly it all goes...I've spent roughly 50 hours watching movies in the past week and have (mostly) loved each one of them. No true stinkers this year...yet.

I didn't get to attend a whole lot of star studded parties this year (thanks to a lack of invites), but in retrospect it would have been near impossible to top last year's partying with Gwenyth P. My one regret was not skipping the Short Bus premiere for the One X One party...ahh well, live and learn

This is very exciting! I'm actually at home and have a full three hours before my next movie. I was fortunate to sleep in until 10:00 today and I think that was just enough sleep to help me survive the final couple of days of TIFF. Every year I'm reminded how exhausting this whole thing can's 100% percent worth it though.

I just got home from Griffin and Phoenix which gave us all runny noses and red eyes from crying. A 5 kleenex movie without a doubt.

Mon Meillieur Ami 8.5/10
Day Night Day Night 5.5/10
Jindabyne 6.9/10
Breaking and Entering 8.9/10
Griffin and Phoenix 8.2/10
